Two tracks from FlyLo’s first new album in five years.

Earlier this month Flying Lotus announced that he would be releasing a new album title Flamagra on May 24th and now we have the first bit of music from that album, “Takashi” and “Spontaneous”, which also features Little Dragon. The song’s show a more mature FlyLo without leaving behind any of the style or sound that he was known for.

I did actually get an advanced listen of Flamagra just yesterday and if you’re a FlyLo fan you will not be disappointed. Featuring Anderson .Paak, Tierra Whack, and George Clinton, Toro Y Moi, Thundercat, Shabazz Palaces, and David Lynch (who directed the “Fire Is Coming” video that FlyLo just shared), the album marks an amazing comeback for Flying Lotus.

In a statement about the album Flying Lotus said “This album has been a refuge for pain and trying to make the most out of that pain. Music can heal and in the wake of that tragedy it reminded me what I’m here to do. As we get older, we start to figure out what our purpose is and embrace it and I want to do good things with my work. I want it to be able to help people through tough times and inspire them to be creative.”

You can find “Spontaneous” from Little Dragon and Flying Lotus on our Tasty! Jams playlists for April.
