The followup to Flower Boy has arrived.
Prefaced by a message from Tyler himself letting listeners know that IGOR is unlike any of his previous albums and to just “jump into it” I did just that. The 40-minute follow up to Flower Boy is an incredible ride through heavy 808’s, arpeggiated keyboards, pitched-up vocals, and influences ranging from punk to jazz. Featuring contributions from Kanye West, Solange, Pharrell, Jack White, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti (Originally, it was publicized that Frank Ocean was also on the album but Tyler clarified that), the album flows seamlessly from one track to the next, with abrupt stops at the end of songs playing perfectly off of the start of the next.
Listen to IGOR in full, as Tyler, The Creator suggests, “I believe the first listen works best all the way through, no skips. Front to back.” You can find “A BOY IS A GUN” and “WHAT’S GOOD” on our Tasty! Jams playlists for May.
