The first of a three part film by experimental director Bertrand Mandico, featuring new music from M83.
In July M83 announced that they would be releasing a sequel to their 2007 ambient album Digital Shade Vol. 1 and now we’ve gotten a new taste of what’s to come with DSVII. Today M83 shared a nine minute video that marks the first of a three part series from director Bertrand Mandico titled Extazus that will feature new music from the upcoming album. This installment features the new song “Temple of Sorrow.” M83 have said that DSVII is “influenced heavily by early video game soundtracks, ‘80s sci-fi/fantasy films and analog synth pioneers” like Brian Eno. No official release date has been announced but we’ll keep you updated when part two comes out.
