The Sydney producer shares the second single from his upcoming EP.
Two years ago now I first heard Cabu‘s “Crazy” and was immediately hooked. His wavy and woozy production style had me floating and awaiting more. He delivered again last year on “Change” and the subsequent 23 EP and now he’s back with a new track from his sophomore project. Following the incredible “Signs,” which he shared back in August, “After 9” echoes that classic Cabu sound, feeling dreamy and dancey all at once. Featuring vocalist Maribelle, the song outlines the pitfalls of digital relationships but feels tropical and warm throughout.
Cabu had a bit to say about “After 9,” noting that “It was accidental, I was looking for beats to put on a mixtape that I just wanted to release after holding on to them (mostly unfinished) for so long, I called it the ‘Basura’ mixtape which is ‘trash’ in Spanish/Filipino language.”
